The Greek-Cypriot guitarist Eugenia Kanthou studied at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Vienna with Karl Scheit and Composition with Friedrich Neumann. Her later collaboration with Konrad Ragossnig was a rich source of important artistic and pedagogical impulses. Eugenia Kanthou was a prize-winner at the "Fernando Sor" International Guitar Competition in Roma.

As soloist and chamber musician she has performed at internationally renowned festivals and concert series. With her Duo "Guitar & Voice" she has been touring many European countries and has been member of the ensemble "United Guitars" since 2008. Furthermore her artistic life embraces activities as editor for Universal Edition and Doblinger.

Eugenia Kanthou lectured guitar and chamber music at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Vienna until 1998. Since 1999 she has been guest professor at the Hochschule für Musik "Hanns Eisler" in Berlin.
